A shadow of doubt
[The disturbance that invited Chaldean influence this time was of a slightly... different sort. It was during one of the many outbreaks of the plague in medieval Europe. It should be a tumultous time. The ravages of disease and the collapse that brought should have consumed this particular area. Yet, just in this section there was a strange peace.
Instead of a plague on the citizens of the few villages affected by the singularity it was affecting wild game. Some of the farm animals, as well... Only a handful of humans seem affected at all. The natives say that a healer from a foreign land--a saint, some say--has saved their lands. At least, from the plague. She was using a local chapel as a base of operations.
The name of this saint? Nightingale, they said.
She had known her activities weren't going to be ignored. Nothing ever is in the long run. She senses the presence of a Servant even before he enters the chapel. A small smile tugs at the edge of her lips.]
